PROPOSED REFORMS & RECOMMENDATIONS
To ensure that the dredging industry in Bangladesh continues to thrive, BCSDOA has proposed several key reforms:
Mandatory Membership for Government Tenders: To enhance transparency and ensure that only qualified dredging companies participate in government projects, BCSDOA recommends making association membership compulsory for bidders, similar to practices in the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
Fuel Price Adjustments in Contracts: Given the volatility of global fuel prices, BCSDOA is advocating for government contracts to include fuel price adjustment clauses, ensuring that companies are not disproportionately affected by rising costs.
